What changes a transfer estimate

Ideal and practical time answer different questions
Ideal time is the payload divided by the selected speed. Practical time applies the same documented transfer allowance used by the calculator. Neither result guarantees when a particular service will finish.
Use download speed for a download and upload speed for an upload. When comparing a plan, use its Typical Download or Typical Upload value where available.

GB and MB are decimal units; GiB and MiB are binary units. The tool supports all four and converts them before applying the line-rate formula. If another app reports MB/s instead of Mbps, use the unit converter rather than treating the numbers as equal.
